Bass Pro

This past weekend we trekked up north to get some face time with some of our all-time favorite people: Nana, Auntie Kelly, McKaylah and Kennedy. We headed out to the Bass Pro Shop on Saturday so Daddy could do a little shopping. Surprisingly, it was very kid-friendly and I would certainly recommend stopping in, even if you are not at all interested in the wares they are pedaling (ahem, me!). Eoin and McKaylah spent quite awhile watching the massive fish in the tank. Nana walked them around the store while assisted Jordan in his shopping (I mean, I am practically a professional). During their walk Nana and the kids found an area that was set up to paint a wiggly fish - a super cute little wooden fish and was bendable - and where earlier the Easter Bunny sat for pictures. The kids were thoroughly entertained and it made shopping pleasurable.

Later that night we moved on to visit Aunt Donna, Uncle Hugh and company! Much to our pleasure, the and co. was much more than expected as Kathleen was in town and Charail came to visit too! We had a wonderful night of Phase 10!

wrapped around his finger

Eoin has a sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa Kohn's on Monday nights. I usually have a meeting that goes until about 7:00pm and another meeting on Tuesday mornings at 6:45am. Since I wouldn’t get to see him much anyway and to prevent him being at daycare so early, the sleepover comes into play! It is such a great situation because Eoin loves spending time with his grandparents.

Monday night, I was sent this picture. Apparently Eoin conned Grandma and Grandpa Kohn into a trip to Toys R Us. He got a new basketball hoop for Grandma and Grandpa’s house followed by a few hundred rides on this guy! He bled Grandma dry of quarters.

We missed Eoin immediately! Then Jordan and I spend our evening alone discussing how cute our son happens to be. Exactly how we should plan spending evenings by ourselves, right? I have a feeling Grandma and Grandpa take him so we would be doing things that might result in another grandchild. The joke is on them.

I've got big shoes to fill . . .

. . . This is my chance to do something. I have to seize the moment." Andrew Jackson

Eoin loves shoes. Mommy's shoes, Daddy's shoes, and here he is playing in Grandpa Kohn's shoes.

Elmo!

Two things have become a constant in our lives in a short time . . . Eoin's bubble police car and Elmo! These pictures are from yesterday morning, Eoin was still in his pajamas, a snack in the back seat, Elmo in one arm and he was ready to ride. Elmo joined us on many trips this weekend: Fresh Market, Dick's Sporting Goods, Grandma and Grandpa Kohn's, WalMart, Sam's Club . . . yep, Elmo got a seat next to Eoin in the cart!

He sure does love Elmo, but when asked "who's your buddy?" he always excitedly screams "DADA!"

Transformations

I have been incredibly nostalgic lately. We are coming up on 1 year in our current house tomorrow and I can't believe the growing that Eoin has done in just this short year!

We closed on our house on March 20th and moved in the the same day . . . Eoin had not crawled yet; within the week, he crawled.

We celebrated his first birthday with lots of family and friends; it was a fabulous! Eoin had not walked yet; within the month, he walked.

We laughed and played and cried and loved. . . Eoin had not spoken a word yet, he now talks and laughs and plays and cries.

Our house has transformed into a home through more than just the aesthetic face lifts we have given it (and continue to give and dream about). Our little man will not remember our first home so this home will hold the most of his memories. I have been better at making them than recording them lately. New year, new start.

almost two

My little man is steadily approaching is 2nd birthday.
I am completely in denial, I don't want it to arrive. I want him to be a little baby boy forever; alas, it will come and pass and I will continue to love him more and more with every passing day. Here are a few recent pictures to enjoy. It was an incredibly difficult photo shoot; Eoin was not having any of it and I think I burned off more than a few calories chasing him around the studio! They turned out great and captured his little personality so well.
