Introducing . . .

DELANEY!!

Delaney is a black labrador and the newest member of the Kohn Family! We acquired her due to some moving circumstances and saved her from being euthanized. Look at that little face, how could we not take her. So far so good on the puppy front. Jordan brought her to her new home on Wednesday. She is 9 weeks old and plays well with her sister, Aspen. The same cannot be said for her new brother, Reilly, however, but seriously, besides me, who does Reilly play well with?? Jordan is excited to turn her into the hunting dog he has always wanted; this kind of failed with Aspen as she is afraid of the decoys, whoops ;) Well, stop by and say hi, just be prepared for a little 'Laney lovin'!

The victorious Kohn Family

Each year, the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, Kohn's, former Kohn, Thompson's and former Thompson's, gather at Twin City Lanes for a tradition filled with competition, rivalry, pizza and of course beer! It is the annual Turkey Bowl! Each year each family grows. This year, Ashley designed shirts for everyone and they must have been good luck because the Kohn Family took the trophy back this year! It was either the luck from the shirts or the fact that our ringer, Erin, finally stepped into the bowling shoes, and wore them home I might add, and bowled amazingly . . . seriously, she fools you all when she says that her sport is basketball! It was so much fun and we can't wait until next year for the re-match!

After an awful experience with a local photographer who will remain nameless (cancelled the day of the shoot and didn't want to reschedule; I should also mention this was the month before Christmas!) Danielle Gilmore recommended to check out Kim Hewerdine and her talents . . . we are in LOVE; not only is she is the sweetest person, but the photos turned out so well! Eoin is SO CUTE!!!!!! Seriously, I think he is like a little baby model, even though he didn't cooperate at all . . . he was constantly turning his head away from the camera; but I guess I can't blame him, it was so cold and windy that day! I gave him very poor working conditions :) I couldn't even take his little hat off!

Festival of Trees

Each year, the annual fundraiser for the Baby Fold, the Festival of Trees, kicks off the holiday season for me. For the past two years now, I have been honored to be a tree designer; this year my tree was name "Puttin' on the Ritz." I think next year I'm going to up grade to a 7 foot tree as opposed to a 4 foot and try to be even more creative with a larger canvas. I made it out a couple of times to take in the festivities . . . is it time for Christmas music yet?!

Some random thoughts

This time last year I was 11 weeks pregnant :)

Eoin will start kindergarten in 2013, be old enough to drive a car in 2024 and will finish high school in 2026. He will graduate college with the class of 2030, give or take a year! Crazy, huh!

Eoin's astrological sign is a gemini.

Eoin's birthstone is a pearl . . .this is great because I love pearls :) haha!

yummy yummy in my tummy?

Maybe yummy yummy all over the place??? Eoin is doing so well with his baby food and loves his spoon :) Sweet potatoes and bananas seem to be his favorite so far . . . he reaches for the spoon to try and do it himself!

5 months!

Eoin is now 5 months old! Where does the time go? He is making developmentally making leaps and bounds. Now that he are his 5 months milestones:

• holding his own bottle! and tilting his head to be sure he is getting every last drop :)





• is now eating rice cereal every night along with carrots and bananas . . . a few more to be added to this list very soon





• he is chewing on his toes! he absolutely loves his feet and we cannot keep socks on those little piggies!





• he has the ability to roll over, but does not do it much . . .he prefers his back to his belly





• when on his belly he is pulling up at the front and kicking his back legs with fury . . . I'm assuming this means that crawling is right around the corner





• Eoin wants everything that is placed in front of him; he is contantly reaching, unfortunately everything he gets a hold of ends up in his mouth!





• His little personality has developed amazingly over the last 5 months . . . he loves seeing and meeting new people, although he plays shy by smiling and then nestling his head into his mommy's chest





• He is so ticklish . . . his tummy and his feet!





• He continues to sleep through the night! Mommy often has to wake him in the morning in order to be somewhat on time for work

Eoin continues to brighten our lives . . . he has been here a short 5 months and we could not imagine life without him. He truly is a very good baby and we are so blessed!

Bad News Bears

Do you think Eoin belongs with this look a-like duo?

Today, the Chicago Bears played the undefeated Tennesee Titans . . . as you can probably gather from the title of this entry, the Titans remain undefeated . . . as you can probably gather from the above pictures, Eoin was not very pleased with how his team played. Also, before scandal reaches the airwaves . . yes, my baby was in a bar, but, it was for a private party and there was no smoking and there has been no smoking in the Bloomington bars for awhile now and it was also for charity! A big thank you to Jonie and JB for inviting us to partake in the festivities!

I know Eoin gets his chubby cheeks from both of us, as you can tell (oh, yeah, and we got a night out :)!)

Happy Halloween!

such a happy lobster :)

so somber . . .

For Halloween Eoin dressed up as a lobster . . . we made the trip to Grandma and Grandpa Kohn's for chili and to show off his costume! Meeting us there were our friends . . . we barely recognized them in the costumes (j/k, haha!) but Jeff was Family Man (so creative!), Katie was Mother Nature and with her, her two precious little girls! Lily was a lily and Ella was a calla lily . . . they were so cute! Beth and Clint also went the creative route and came as a very convincing Brangelina, complete with the entire clan of kids! We have more great pictures to get from Lisa, but above are some that I snapped! Eoin was extremely tired by the end of the night and looked so comfortable and cute in his Lil' Pumpkin pjs! What a great time we had and the weather was absolutely beautiful!
