How Far Along: 29 Weeks

What I miss: Nothing really - maybe sleeping on my stomach? Or bending over? ha!
Cravings: Sweets as well as aversions to chicken
Symptoms: Mostly tiredness and being huge.
Best Moment this week: Just playing with Eoin and my boys finally being well again; Eoin had strep and Jordan had pneumonia! We laid around all day on Saturday and it was fantastic; we had to get up to go to the Chamber Gala on Saturday night, but even that was fun!

28 Weeks!

I'm 28 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 28 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby K is the size of a melon
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 23 lbs
Maternity Clothes: I wear maternity pants and some dresses; all my shirts are regular (and tight, haha)
Gender: It's a boy
Movement: He moves quite a bit and sometimes on command.
Sleep: Sleep is getting rough; I am itchy and uncomfortable and if Eoin wakes up and comes in beside me, he is kicking me from outside my belly and baby kicks me from inside!
What I miss: Nothing really, maybe bending over without any difficulty
Cravings: Pancakes and sweets
Symptoms: Mostly tiredness, or laziness! A little heartburn
Best Moment this week: This week Eoin came down with strep throat, as of last night, he was still burning a very high fever after being on the antibiotic since Thursday! Jordan is now sick too, it is difficult to see any bright side to this week :( I took the 28 week glucose test this morning and found out even after working out a little bit more and watching what I ate, I still managed to gain 4lbs in the last two weeks! I am at a loss! I will continue to workout b/c it makes me feel better about myself, but geez louise! 11 weeks left, so if I continue to gain at that rate, I will have gained 45 with this pregnancy . . . we shall see if that prophecy fulfills itself and if it does, well, at least it is less than I gained with Eoin (is that a brightside?) I will get the results of my gd test tomorrow.

Eoin-isms

Eoin continues to amaze me with how much he picks up; he knows every single type of vehicle and equipment and points each piece out! Instead of simply saying 'truck' he will say 'tow truck' or 'plow truck' or 'that truck has a trailer.' He is one smart little cookie.

He has his grandparents wrapped around his little finger and loves spending the night with Mama and Papa Kohn on Mondays. Yesterday, I received an email update from Grandma Kohn giving me a rundown of his evening and morning and within the email was another true 'Eoin-ism.' I simply had to post for fear of forgetting:
"He was...once again...perfect last night. Dean asked him this A.M...."Eoin, do you know how much joy you bring into this house?" He smiled and said yea.....He ate pancakes and had 2 glasses of milk. Had a total blow-out in a pull-up...that was fun....and we played till 9pm with his semi hauling cars all over the basement. He got up at 6:30 because Abby was barking and he says to me ..."Grandma....why is dog talking?'"

So cute, right?! He couldn't think of the word 'barking!'

Last week, I slid on a patch of ice, cracking the rim on my tire, rendering my car not drivable until fixed; Eoin must have heard Jordan and I discussing this. Anyway, he and Jordan were invited to go to an ISU game with Papa Kohn as Mama Kohn was in Florida; he turned to me and said 'you can't go, you broke your car!' Jordan and I were in hysterics, it just came out of nowhere!

Since Grandma Kohn was in Florida, I was able to borrow her car while mine was getting fixed (a huge thanks!). This confused Eoin quite a bit, and he kept asking why we were driving Mama's car. I explained to him that Mama was in Florida and without skipping a beat he asked, 'They have toys in Florida?' Spoiled? nah!

27 Weeks!

I'm 27 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 27 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby K is the size of an eggplant
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 19 lbs! Working on just keeping it here for a little while!
Maternity Clothes: A decent mix, but lots of dresses with tights!
Gender: It's a boy.
Movement: Little boy Kohn moves tons! I love it :)
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well, I have been waking up before the alarm most days, so I must be getting all the sleep I need; I guess I should take advantage of this now.
What I miss: Nothing really - I could've used a beer during the football games yesterday! haha
Cravings: This week I craved pancakes! My lovely hubby made some good pancakes, and yesterday I wanted candy.
Symptoms: Heartburn, a little tiredness, swelling!?!
Best Moment this week: The Bears going to the NFC Championship?! haha! Eoin being absolutely adorable all the time and feeling this baby move tons.

Hunting season ends in two weeks, so at that time Jordan will help me start getting the nursery together. I am excited. We have a busy next few weeks that will bring us well into February so we are filling our time between now and baby-time!

I have really been trying to be more active this week and I feel so much better for it! I am mad at Wii Fit for not having an option of 'pregnancy' for weight gain. One more week until the Gestational Diabetes test. I am a little worried due to the fact that I have been swelling a lot this week; I didn't notice any swelling in my feet or extremities with Eoin until I was very close to my due date and even then after. We shall see. Next week also begins my third trimester.

Eoin-isms

I know I have a lot of blog posting to catch up on, and once again, I promise I will just as soon as I knock a few other things off some lists, but I just had to capture a few things that Eoin said this weekend that had me laughing!

He is really talking so well and catching on to so many phrases.

Sunday morning, Jordan went hunting and so Eoin and I went on a little breakfast date to McDonald's before heading to the grocery store. Of course the playland was a required stop (perfect indoor park when there is snow on the ground). We had the place to ourselves for quite awhile, which was perfect because Eoin got to figure out the layout and spend plenty of time in his favorite spots. Shortly we were joined by two adorable little girls; they were definitely a couple of years older and wiser than Eoin's 2 1/2 years, though. Eoin proceeded to introduce himself to them at the top of the jungle gym. "Hi, I'm Eoin. Eoin Dean Kohn." I heard him say this several times to the little girls who were clearly ignoring him! You know, because I understand 2 1/2 year old gibber, but they may not have!

If this wasn't enough, from the other side of the jungle gym came a phrase that about had me spit out my half caf . . . I can't even believe the other mother didn't laugh . . anyways, I heard "Wait for Eoin, Ladies!" hilarious. I couldn't make this up.

Although a fun situation, it wouldn't be an outing if I wasn't slightly embarrassed. Eoin asked me if I wanted to play McDonald's. Of course, I said, yes. He asked what I wanted, I responded "Chicken Nuggets, please." His response?! "For a boy or a girl?" One mom turned and asked if we come here much? I couldn't even begin to explain to her ...

26 weeks!

I'm 26 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 26 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby K is the length of an English cucumber
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 19 lbs (WOW! We are going to have to slow this down a little! or a lot!)
Maternity Clothes: A mixture, but mostly maternity; it just looks better! Definitely sweats a home though.
Gender: It's a boy!
Movement: TONS; especially at night. Jordan says we are in trouble and that this baby will be a night owl.
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well with some weird dreams.
What I miss: Nothing really.
Cravings: Hmmm, still ice cream.
Symptoms: Mostly tiredness, a few Braxton Hicks and of course more heartburn.
Best Moment this week: You can now see the baby move! My belly moves, his kicks are strong! Eoin loves on his baby brother a lot and it melts my heart.

I had a doctor's appointment this morning and was shocked with my weigh gain! The doctor said that everything was fine and just to keep on doing what I'm doing?! This surprised me . . . I still have 13 weeks to go, how big am I going to get?? Besides that though, I now start appointments every 2 weeks. When did I get this pregnant? This is going entirely too quickly. Jordan and I actually discussed some names last night and started listing what we need to do to get ready for the baby. Nothing was decided and we didn't actually accomplish anything, but geez, we really need to get moving . . . this baby is going to be here before we know it!
